S.S. Badger

The Lake Michigan Carferry, the S.S. Badger, runs from Ludington to Manitowac, Wisconsin twice daily. Even if you don't set sail, you can watch the magnificent ship return to the Ludington Harbor every evening.

Ludington State Park

Voted the #1 State Park in Michigan, the Ludington State Park is a must for those who love the great outdoors and the untampered beauty of God's creation. And we're just a 20-minute drive away! Rent a kayak, hike a trail, or take a swim in Hamlin Lake or Lake Michigan.

Miles of Beaches

Lighthouses

Kibby is just a two-minute drive from Summit Township park beach on Lake Michigan (new playground and all!), but there are many, many beaches less than 15 minutes away, including Stearns Park, the main Ludington Beach featured in the picture above.

The North Breakwater Lighthouse (pictured) is a Ludington icon and walking the breakwall to the lighthouse at the end is a favorite for tourists and locals alike. But don't miss Big Point Sable at the State Park and the other area lighthouses!

Pentwater

Drive south and make a couple turns and you'll end up in downtown Pentwater. The tiny town boasts a quaint Main Street with unique shops and tasty restaurants with a view of the water. Then there's Pentwater Lake and Mears State Park...

Canoeing/Kayaking

Take a day to journey down (or up) the picturesque Pere Marquette River. Take a 5-minute drive to PM Expeditions, start further up the river at RiverRun, or take it even further to Baldwin Canoe Rental.

Ludington

Silver Lake

We're just a 10-minute drive south of downtown Ludington. Do a little shopping, grab a cone from House of Flavors (their ice cream is made at the restaurant downtown), and take a walk to the beach! And don't forget to grab some dinner before you head back to camp... for some of our delicious soft serve, of course!

Journey 25-minutes south and you'll find yourself in Silver Lake where enormous and endless sand dunes provide enormous and endless adventure. Take a guided tour or rent a jeep or ATV and see the dunes on your own. Don't forget to pack some food and have a cookout on Lake Michigan!

Historic Village

Travel the scenic Lakeshore Drive and then journey back in time at White Pine Village, a four dimensional museum featuring historical buildings and artifacts from West Michigan.

Horseback Riding

A perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, head south (about 30 minutes) to Rainbow Ranch and hit the trails!

Charter Fishing

Theme Park

While the Ludington area may boast beautiful beaches, people come from all over for the fishing. Salmon. Bass. Trout. Lake Michigan is the place to go--and it doesn't hurt that it's beautiful out there, too! For more information on charters, click on the picture above.

Since Kibby is south of Ludington, we're closer (about a 40-minute drive) to Michigan's biggest theme park and outdoor water park, Michgian's Adventure. If you're looking for a thrilling ride or a water slide, you'll want to hop in the car and make a day of it!
